COMPUTER MAINTENANCE

I use Windows 95. I am not a computer expert. Here are easy MAINTENANCE tips. Perhaps they may be helpful to you.

1. SCAN DISC.

Reached by clicking to Accessories, then System Tools, then Scan Disc. Then click on 'thorough search' to highlight. Be sure that 'correct all errors' is highlighted.

2. DEFRAG.

Reached by Accessories, then System Tools, then Disc Defragmentation.

3. EMPTY NETSCAPE CACHE.

Reached by Options at top of Netscape Mail(box), then Network Preferences, Clear Disc Cache now, click on 'ok'.

4. EMPTY RECYCLE BIN.

Reached by the Recycle icon.

5. DELETE UNNECESSARY EMAILS in Netscape Mail Inbox, Sent, Trash.

6. After deleting Trash, click on File (in Netscape Mail), click on EMPTY TRASH BIN.

7. EMPTY temp files. (Under c:\Windows\Temp)

8. EMPTY temp Internet files.
---------

My computer is very busy, and so, on a monthly basis, I have been advised to Scan Disc, Defrag, empty Netscape cache, empty Recycle bin.

I receive a lot of email, and so I often empty the Trash Bin.

Love and Light,
Barbara
